Help moving apps to SD card on LG Optimus Exceed 2

I'm on an unrooted LG Optimus Exceed 2 and I've been running out of space so I put in a 16GB SD card so I would be able to continue downloading apps and games. However, when I try to move apps from my internal storage to the SD card, it will say they are moved but no data will be on the SD card, and there is no change in the internal storage either. I've followed several of the tutorials on here but nothing works or corresponds well enough to my device for me to follow the directions. Please help!

Your device needs to be rooted in order to move app data to your SD card. Android no longer has native support for running apps off of SD cards from what I understand.
