I have narrowed it down to these two :

Asus x550ze - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/asus-x550ze-15-6-laptop-grey-10071491-pdt.html#cat-0

AMD FX 7600P Processor
8 GB DDR3
AMD Radeon R7 M270DX (2 GB)
1 TB HDD, 5400 rpm

LENOVO Z50 - http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/laptops-netbooks/laptops/laptops/lenovo-z50-15-6-laptop-white-10108704-pdt.html#cat-0

Intel® Core™ i5-4210U Processor
8 GB DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce 820M (2 GB)
1 TB HDD, 5400 rpm
8 GB SSD

Laptop will be used for the odd game of football manager or counter strike global and watching football on.

I would get the LENOVO Z50 because it contains a better graphics card and processor.

The AMD's base frequency (stock) is 2.7ghz and can be overclocked to 3.6 but It will produce a lot more heat especially if you're using a laptop.

No. Not unless you will manually change it in the settings which causes more heat output which I do not recommend doing on a laptop.

Both CPUs will work at a nice speed of 2.7ghz all the time.
