push the audio plug further in? if the plug is as far in as possible, your headset is broken and you should replace it with something that isn't cheaply made "gaming" crap

I wouldn't recommend any "gaming" stuff at all. start by getting a good headphone (ATH-AD500x for fps players, HD518 line for anyone) and cheap mic (audio technica makes a tiny one that's $6) and then work from there based on your needs (things like modmic and similar products from other companies, or a full sized condenser mic like blue yeti and AT2020USB)
