Solution hang-the-9 Dec 31, 2018 "Connected to broadband" is not the same as connected to your WiFi signal. Does the computer have a wireless card? Did you connect it to your wireless signal if it does? The red X can be many things, but it's likely coming from the ethernet connection. If the computer did not come with a wireless card you can get a USB WiFi card for it. This should be OK for a cheaper thing https/www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA6PF5E31975&Description=USB%20wifi&cm_re=USB_wifi-_-9SIA6PF5E31975-_-Product
