Help with internet

If I already cut the cord on my cable company and go out and purchase a product like the portal WiFi box Tom talked about in an article. Do I still need to purchase just internet service through the cable company for my computers and tv’s to work? My Netflix, Hulu Ect Ect all don’t work. Please help!!!

Yes, I’m aware of this. I had a bundle package with Tv, internet & phone set up with spectrum. I decided to cancel spectrum to save money because of increases as well as I already pay and have Netflix,Hulu,Ect... But now nothing is working after I canceled spectrum. Internet isn’t working or my streaming devices. I was trying to figure out if I just go out and buy This “portal” device if that will get everything up and running again? Or if I still need to contact spectrum and just pay for internet service only?

Those devices require an internet connection(cable, DSL, fiber, etc). The Portal is just a wifi router it does not come with it's own internet connection.

look at your local isp see if one of them having a 12/24 month lock in rate for just internet.
