Help with Pentax K30

Hello, I am currently in France for a Ski Holiday and have been trying to take some photos with my Pentax K30 DSLR camera with a Sigma lense. This is the only lense I have brought with me. Every photo I take is 90% dark and only has a few coloured highlights. How can I fix this??!!

Will you provide the model # of the lens? What is aperture range of the lens? For example f/3.5-5.6.
