Well is the network you are trying to connect in range? Did you try to connect to another one closer to you? Open WiFi does not need a password but some are still restricted or may need you to logon to a web portal to access it. May want to put in some details about what this network is you are trying to connect to?

That happens on public wifi and sites that are not kept up to date with security, you should have an option to continue to the site on that page
