Solved! Hitach 43FDX01B TV Blank after Thunderstorm

Hello,
My Hitachi 43FDX01B went blank after a thunderstorm. Usually I unplug for a minute or so and it comes back. But not this time. I opened the back to see if there were any obvious burned out boards. Didn't find any. Found a fuse on the power supply board. It was OK. That's extent of my knowledge. Is there anything else I can check before I call a service guy?

Blank as in the guns don't light up, or as in you only get a gray screen? Do you get menu overlays? Do you get sound?

No sound. No menu. Apparently the guns are not lighting up.

You would have to meter the set in a number of places to determine if it's a power or signal board that's failed. Average repair price for either is around 400 parts and labor - which is waaaaay too much to repair a 4:3 set of that age.

I would get an estimate from a servicer and turn it in to insurance.
