Home stereo amp

How can i hook an amp up to a older home stereo without audio outs. A sharp sc6900 to to be exact. This unit has an interal amp. Can i get signal from the speaker connection. The amp i would like to hook to it is a sharp 7700 cd with rca connections.

There are devices which convert speaker output levels to Line Levels, but I would rather "hack" that stereo to get line level output out from it.

What are you playing on that stereo which needs to be fed to an amp?

I have a ton of old speakers around the house that i have accumulated over the past 30 yrs. 2 of the speakers happen to fit this system. Just looking to add more with an eg for fun and to send speakers to different areas of my home.

Is the device you mentioned for converting signal safe in terms of not damaging an amp.I know a little bit about electronics but not enough to be confident to rob signal from the inside of the unit

Speaker to line level converters work fine. I have used a lot of them and no problems.
