Home Theater Setup (Around $150)

I have been planning to purchase a new Vizio 55" 4k TV and from what some reviewers are saying the audio isn't the best(but no TV really does have good audio), and I was hoping to get a sound system to have with my TV because why have a 4k TV when you can't fully enjoy it?

I was hoping to spend in the neighborhood of $150 nothing to fancy, I am fine with any sort of stereos (book shelves, soundbar, etc).

Also I am not that big into home audio but will I be needing any accessories such as an amplifier or a Subwoofer?

Any home audio suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Anecdotal, but I just had a 55" Vizio die after about 18 months. Not the same model as yours, but I'd never buy another Vizio.

This probably isn't the place to ask it but do you know of another TV with about the same features for around the same price?

I got a 60" Sony (not 4k) to replace the Vizio.
