How do I hook up my old panasonic vcr player to my 32" magnavox flat screen tv

Cable service provider's cable to the VCR and from the VCR either the Coax cable or the RCA cable to the TV (RCA following the terminal colors)

Either the VCR or TV should include at least one or both cable types.

VCR has AV outputs (yellow, red, & white RCA jacks).
Connect them to the matching input on your TV. Check the TV manual if it's not clear.
