Horizontal lines left half of screen

I have an 8 year old Mitsubishi DLP 65 inch TV that suddenly has developed horizontal lines of various colors. Any one have idea what happened and is this fixable?

As a TV. The lines are green and red and migrate from bottom to top, but only on the left half of the screen.

Then it must have gone faulty. I know very little about TVs so I can't help with what caused this to happen or how it could by fixed. But I am confident it needs repair by a technician.
