A device will only hold as long of a charge as the battery allows for and it will be shortened by what you are doing on the device. Gaming especially, or watching movies, will drain a device much faster. Also having multiple apps running at a time (just changing apps doesn't close them) will drain it faster.

If you aren't running multiple apps and not gaming or watching movies, then you may just need a battery replacement. That or keep it plugged in a lot.
