Solved! How can I hookup an rca 37" sound bar to my LG 42lf5600 tv

I'm having trouble getting my rca rts7010b soundbar to work on my LG 42lf5600 tv. I'm using a toslink cable but all I get is static .

Go into the TV audio menu and change the audio type.
