how can someone hack into my cable and order pay per view when i am not home

someone hacked into my cable and ordered over 300.00 worth of payper view movies.Comcast is saying they will investigate on their end.I was working when these were ordered and they still want me to pay I think nt.I never ordered movies from there.....How can this happen???

This is a big problem since cable is a shared system. Which means that a number of house holds use the same connection. It is probably somebody in your neighborhood.

DSL for example is much more secure, DSL(Direct Line Service).

DSL=Digital Subscriber Line.

AFAIK, you need to have the serial number or some other unique ID to do stuff like PPV.
