How do i fix my mp3?

It plays the songs just fine, then in the middle of one it starts sounding really weird and gets a format error message, sometimes its multiple songs that do this. Thing is, the songs work just fine otherwise, but on the mp3 they really start messing up....why is this? How can i fix this problem?

I had gotten it from walmart, only place i could get it from really....when i play the mp3 files on my pc, they work just fine, when they were on my old[now broken] mp3 player they worked fine, but i can't add more than a few songs without it messing up really badly on this new one.

Yeah except its not that simple for me. I was hoping i could get advice on how to fix it, instead of waiting a while to get a chance to go to walmart, not to mention our whole money issue right now....
