Solved! How do I get sound to come through from my Samsung NU7100 smart TV to my 2.4 GHz headphones?

I have an older set of Accoustic Research 2.4GHz headphones with only a 3.5mm connection, although I can attach an RCA adapter. I recently purchased a Samsung model NU7100 smart TV, and like a lot (most?) of these TV's it has no composite out connection. I purchased a toslink-to-RCA adapter, which works well when using cable TV to send audio to the headphones. But when streaming Netflix, YouTube, etc., the audio does not go through to the headphones.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Most Smart TVs do that, unfortunately. Check to see whether you can change SPDIF output format.

Under TV setting/audio there is PCM/Surround etc, toggle that setting, if it that helps.

have the same series tv same problem, even bought a toslink to 3.5 adapter wtf. Getting a chromecast soon to see if the audio works on non tv hdmi stuff.
