How do I make Google Chrome my default browser when factory installed Windows 8 loses its product key

Hello my gateway zx 4970 with factory installed Windows 8 will

not reset or refresh.I changed the computer name a couple time and ptoduct key is gone. I use Google Chrome as my default Browser and am absolutely sick of anything Windows. Do I even need Widows at all to run Chrome!?

Well without windows you wont see anything. Dont like Windows install Linux. Buy a chromebook. or an Apple

Click on the upper right button of Chrome and from options make it the default browser
