How do I play music from my sd card on a LG Q6

Google play is set to external storage and still doesn't find music.

You should be able to just open the standard Google Play music player and it will locate the files. If for some reason it doesn't see them, then check the settings in the app to make sure it is looking on both the phone itself and on the SD card. If they are still not seen, then you need to make sure they are file types that the phone can play, and that the SD card is actually functioning correctly.

I checked the settings, it's external. I can play the songs on the sd card if I go into the sd folder, but they won't keep playing like a playlist. One song plays then have to pick another. So they must be the right file type because they do play. Very annoying. There's got to be a better way. Help please.

The standard Google Player usually has the option for a playlist which should work for all files. If you are, however, using a different app, I can't answer to that.
