Hi,
I am currently on a Toshiba Laptop and no matter what I try it only reads the default mic. I recently bought a turtlebeach headset made for the compute and when I plug in the splitter and everything my computer still doesn't detect the headset.I have tried disabling/muting the default mic I have tried to detect the mic on my computer but nothing works. I have been trying to get a mic to work for a while and I have done research and used different techniques but nothing has worked.

Thank you to anyone that responds and I hope whatever you suggest helps.

Hi,

Does your laptop uses a combo 3.5mm port or the does have separate port for the mic and headset? Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help.
- First is to uninstall/reinstall the Sound card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound card driver.
- Once completely uninstalled, download and install the latest driver.
- Reboot your laptop once the latest driver has been installed.
- After the reboot do check if the Microphone connected will be detected.
- Right click on the speaker icon and select Recording Devices.
- If the laptop will detect your Microphone, right click on it and select Set Defaults.
- Click Apply and OK then test it again.

Hopefully this steps will help. :)
