how do I transfer files off my nextbook to laptop if screen lights up but doesn't turn on completely

My Nextbook 10 just started where the screen will kind of light up but won't fully turn on. I am wondering if there is a way to transfer my files to my laptop. I have important files on there that I don't want to lose by doing a factory reset. I am devastated right now and could really use the help. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried connecting it to the computer via USB and see if it allows you to access the data?
