I need a really good gaming computer for my son. Will the i5-430M Dual Core processor with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz work?

CPU wise it should do fine. The other thing you have to worry about is a graphics card. Fill out the FAQ thread at the top of the forum here and we can find you a decent laptop, i.e. it helps to know what you want to spend, etc...
