How much better is Nvidia 260M GTX over 230M

I'm curious how much better in performance a Nvidia 260m GTX is over a 230M? I'm looking at laptops and am torn between the HP dv6t Quad Edition and the Asus G51J-A1. They have similar specs with the exception of the video (the Asus is better). The cost for the Asus is much more than the HP. I'm not a gamer but I do want a good GPU. Advice and thoughts? Also, for comparison my desktop currently has an Nvidia 8800GT.

Short:GTX 260M performs way better than GT 230M.
GTX 260M has 112SPs like a desktop 8800GT,so the performance is pretty much the same

Did you say $900 ? On the online website prices, the HP dv6 2170 15inch is less than USD 1500 and asus g51j is around the same too. Isnt this correct ?
