How safe is messenger video call

Hello
Just to make things clear i am not asking any illegal programs to hack anything but i was just wondering how safe is video calling in windows live messenger and can anyone record your conversation from somewhere else (like a hacker or a virus)
i think that a program like a WLM is very advanced but could someone still do it even if you have all your system up to date (windows, antivirus,etc....)

Someone would have to want to observe you.

If you're not doing anything illegal ie; dealing in CP or malicious software, drugs or anything else you're fine. And if you're doing that stuff you need to learn alot more about digital and personal security.
