How to connect monitor to digital adapter box

I have a digital adapter cable box from Verizon, it does not have an hdmi port. I have an older computer monitor with only a vga and audio port,is it possible to connect the monitor to the adapter? This probably is not possible, I'm just hoping to get some use out of the monitor, thanks any help is greatly appreciated. I know I will need additional cables,if this can be done, please let me know what I need. Thanks

If your adapter box has composite video and audio outputs you can convert the video out to VGA with one of these

The audio connection would go direct from the box to the monitor.

It only has the red,yellow and white ports,no audio port. I was trying to make use of the monitor but I think I have to buy a tv.

Yellow is composite video and red and white are audio.

Hi,I know that,I have a vga to rgb adapter cable and the red,yellow and white wire,when I connect the monitor to the adapter,it says no signal.

A VGA to RGB adapter cable is not the same as an active VGA to composite video converter. The red and white cables are audio and are not connected to the converter. They connect directly to the monitor audio input.

Hi,this is what I'm using,should I just connect the yellow wire then,right now it says no signal.
