I have an old laptop which beeps incessantly upon booting. I figured out that a stuck space key is what causes this. I tried disabling it using MapKeyboard (described here: http://blog.enrii.com/2007/11/25/disable-a-certain-key-in-your-keyboard/) but it still kept beeping when I restarted it. Do any of you guys know how to disable a key like the HARD way? I mean, REALLY REALLY disable it even upon booting. I hope you guys can help. Thanks!

The only way I know to really 'fix' it is to go in and unstick the key that is stuck.

Often it is due to a spill of some kind that leaves residue or debris stuck in there.

Otherwise you may well need to replace the keyboard.
