how to show program information on a lg led tv

we recently bought a 47" LG Led tv and when we click the guide button on the remote to see what show is on, it says "no program information" Just seeing what I can do to get it fixed so i can see what show is curently on.

That data would have to come from your cable company, through the cable box. The TV only displays what is delivered to it.
