How to use single mic/headphone wire and speakers through one headphone/mic jack??

I recently bought a set of Logitech z506 speakers. I also bought a turtle beach 50x headset. The speakers are connected through a 3.5mm wire/jack. The headset has a combo mic/headset wire to plug into a combo jack. My laptop also has a combo jack. My question is, if I plug the combo wire into an audio y splitter, Will the mic work? Could I use a mic and headset wire joiner into the combo jack, an audio y splitter into the headphone part of it, and use a headphone and mic splitter to put the headphone wire and speaker wire in the in the audioffice splitter and the mic in the mic in part of the joiner. Would that work?? Srry if it was too confusing. . All responses are appreciated. Thank You
