Hello,
I currently have a 2013 HP Envy dv7t-7300 notebook PC, with an Intel quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, a Nvidia GeForce 650M 2GB graphics card, and a motherboard with the part number 682040-501. In short, I need to upgrade my graphics, and I'm looking to do so by using this graphics card dock. I've located a port on the lower left section of the motherboard (can be viewed here, the port is below the left processor), how would I go about identifying the type of port, considering that mSATA and mPCI-E are nearly identical?

By the time you are done buying a video card, adapter and power supply for the laptop, you could have sold your laptop and bought a faster one with pretty much the same amount.

A system with an 960m video card and a good i5 CPU is about $800, which is pretty much what you would get by not spending money on the external card and selling your system. And you get a new laptop with a factory warranty. I like this model http://www.amazon.com/Dell-15-6-Inch-Quad-Core-i5-6300HQ-Processor/dp/B015PYYDMQ quad core i5, decent size SSD, 960m video card.

Are you sure that there's only one m-PCIe port in my laptop? The port that I've found highly resembles a m-PCIe/mSATA port, and I just need to know if it's m-PCIe or not.

** EDIT ** I've zoomed in on the port, picture here
