Hp cartridge no 344 error

Hello,
I have bought hp tri-colour ink for HP deskjet 6980 printer but light is flashing to say no colour ink installed. I have taken out cartridge and replaced but still flashing. Help

Hard to see what you are doing from here, aside from a bad cartridge, read the manual to make sure you installed it correctly. If you are sure you are installing the thing properly, bring it back and get another one. InkJet printers tend to have weak build quality, could also be that the actual sensor or mechanism in the printer went bad if a second cartridge did not fix things.
