HP Envy 17 E9G83UA#ABA Wont Power UP after Win 10.1 update

Product: HP Envy 17 Leap Motion TS SE NB (E9G83UA #ABA)

Factory mechanics. Original OS/ Windows 8, upgraded a couple years ago to Windows 10 Pro. Ran smooth, no issues.

Approximately 1 year ago, it prompted for a major OS update to Windows 10.1. It completed the download and installation process, going into a final reboot. It died, and never powered up. The power button is unresponsive. I get an active LED next to the AC power port when plugged in. When the battery is fully charged, it glows green.

Pressing the power button results in a dead stick. no activity at all. In an attempt to rule out power issues, I have replaced the battery and replaced the AC adapter with no change. I googled basic reset parameters for HP laptops, and have tried several to no avail.

Any magic bullets, or paths to recommend?

I would have it looked at by a tech. It sounds more like a hardware issue and the timing of the update just happened when the problem did.
