HP ENVY M4 1115dx cpu upgrade

has anyone tried to upgrade the M4 1115dx cpu? the CPU is removable as i saw while cleaning out the internals from dust i was looking into upgrading it from a i7-3632QM (35w) to either a i7-3840QM (45w) or a i7-3940XM (55w) they all support the same functions and are all the same socket

I'm not 100% sure if it is compatible, however it wouldn't be much of a performance upgrade, even if you go to a i7-3940XM

well i do alot of single core things on my laptop so i want that little boost in performance plus its going to be paired with upgraded ram and an SSD

You'll certainly find a boost in performance with that combination, I still can't find anywhere if it's a compatible CPU however, you could perhaps check the user guide if you still have it.

i dont have it unfortunately but i would just get it but i feel by BIOS is going to reject the CPU if its not on the list of accepted CPUs

Wish I could help, only thing I can say it upgrade the RAM and SSD in the meantime, maybe someone else will have some input so leave the thread open for a couple days.
