Hp ipaq hard reset does not work

My HP iPaq rz1750 (about 3 months old) froze when I pressed the power button twice in too rapid succession. Now the battery light does not come on when plugged in and the hard reset procedure does nothing. Would welcome suggestions.

Have you tried removing the battery for say 30 seconds and then putting it back in and restarting?

I'll give that a try if I can find the right tool to open the case -- thanks for the tip.

Thanks very much for the tip. It took me a couple of days to find a Torx driver the right size, but after disconnected the battery for about an hour and then reconnecting the battery and closing the case, I plugged it into the charger and it went into normal battery activation and new boot mode. It seems to be working OK. Thanks again, and I hope someone else benefits from your tip, as well.
