the toshiba and hp are virtually identical, except the toshiba has twice the amount of ram since its only $20 more the toshiba is better value too. what will the laptop be used for the most?

brad I think you are mistaken. Both laptops have the same RAM which is 4GB. However Toshiba is expandable up to 16GB while HP is only expandable to up to 8GB. Well both laptops are identical as brad already have said. So if you're not brnad specific, you would go for the cheaper one since you are getting the same specs for a cheaper amount.
