Hp laptop, Seagate Momentus 5400.2 80GB AT disc drive - pins don't seem to be a plug.

The laptop is dead, but I need to recover the data from the drive. I've seen suggestions that the pins are actually a proprietary plug, but when I pull on them the whole drive seems like it's falling apart. The laptop is over 10 years old, so it may not be SATA after all. Other options, please?

Hi,

Your HDD does actually uses SATA connection so it should work and have you tried using a HDD enclosure so you can use it as an external HDD.
