why not just turn cows into batteries, matrix style?

btw, matrix bots are dumb. cows generate why more electric than humans. and more obedient too. #justsaying.

Yeah but they are herbivores you couldn't recycle the dead. You would have to grow crops. Just two much work. Way more work than coding an entire world.

Sounds like it would benefit both sides if set up properly. The farmers that would take this offer don't need a lot of "fertilizer" themselves, as they only need to grow feed for the cows. HP should be the one to set up the facilities though since they're the ones getting free energy.
But then who shovels it?

This idea is bullsh*t. Oh, it's actually cowsh*t.

Joke aside, it's good to see such a symbiotic waste management, if it ever gets done of course.

What a shitty idea...Literally lmao

Jokes aside, it does sound like a good idea if economically feasible, However it says to power a 100W light bulb, but for how long?

In the future they will develop a technology which will harness the scent of the poop and transfer it via network packets to your household. A new type of firewall will be invented thereafter called the gas mask.

Hopefully skynet will not become self-aware before that happens though.

They were never 'feeding' the humans, so not an issue. Just render down the dead into the appropriate materials the cow can break down. Herbivores are such because of their teeth and what their stomach can digest (something about muscle tissue they can't digest, I don't recall exactly what). Thus, make it into a gloop they can digest. Ta-dah!

So then wouldn't that just shift pollution as now farmers would have less animal made fertilizer and have to use more chemical fertilizers.

the process doesn't consume the waste- it may degrade the quality a bit but it will still remain useful for fertilizer. also- southern michigan and northwest ohio have significant dairy farms. May help solve another problem.....

The whole flaw in this is that cow manure isn't valuable to begin with. It's used a lot in fertilizers, and is very mild and will not burn plants. Organic farmers prefer this to other means.

So, it's not an "excessive waste" as you indicate. The logistics might work against it too. Cow manure is right there at the farms, where it can be used without transportation. When you start burning up a lot of gas to transport stuff, or need energy to get the gas, you cut into the efficiency of it.

That wasnt really thoughtful because all that cow poop is recycled into fertilizer. None of it is wasted and if they start using it for energy, thered be more bad chemical fertilizers in farmers crops. Making a more unhealthy world.

Good points, but energy from the manure is mainly derived from the methane, there is still plenty of product left for fertilizer. Not a 100% of poo is used for energy (at least this applies to the systems I've seen in place in Vermont).

Haha, good one. You almost pulled me into a Matrix debate. Whew, that was a close one.
