I recently bought a new dell computer. I downloaded Chrome to use for my browser. Now when I open a new tab, it opens behind my current one. If I click it instead of bringing it to the fore it closes it. I also can't open the triple bar tab at all. Firefox doesn't work at all. I downloaded some new software that I had used before and when I started having problems I removed it. No help. Any one have any suggestions?

Click the little Plus next to the "diamond shape" of the current tab or right click a link on a site and select open in new tab.

What you seem to be referring to what is currently happening sounds like opening a new window many sites do this. A simple fix is to maximize the one window and have the other one in window mode then drag the tab to the maximized window's tab ( next to the current diamond tab )
