I connected my HP laptop to an i inc 28" lcd never got it to work but now my i inc wont work with my desktop no picture

desktop in shop connected laptop to i inc 28" lcd via hdmi to hdmi cable all I ever got was a flash of picture on the lcd when video reset now lcd doesn't work at all no picture
my pc cpu fried after the fan died. while it was in the shop I bought an HP laptop and tried to connect HDMI to HDMI on an I inc 28" lcd. when video resets the screen flashes an image and goes dark. my pc only has dvi though the lcd has vga and HDMI does it need resetting?

So you have connected 2 different computers to the monitor and it does not work, seems obvious that the problem is the monitor.
Have you switched the input on the monitor to the right input, or checked using VGA or a different type of video input cable?

the screen menu does not come on. it worked fine I plugged it into an HP laptop and nothing. I just tried connecting to a new video card with vga and HDMI nothing but a blink of video then black. the blink showed desktop.
