I don't know how to connect my 2013 RCA tv to Xfinitybox and program the tv

Hi! I am having trouble connecting the Xfinity box and getting channels. I call Xfinity for help and they said I had to program the tv remote first,then use the other xfinity remote for setup,but my Xfinity remote is changing the channels on the tv in the living room.My tv remote is not getting signels from the Xfinity box and is not downloading channels. What could be the problem?

Not really sure why you need to program the TV, the channels are from the cable box, you just connect it to the input of the TV and change to that input using the TV controls. You need to sort out what remote you are using for what or get someone to help you there so they can see what you are doing.
