I got a new Canon PowerShot elph 190 IS and I have the correct SD card (SDXC) but it keeps saying "Memory Card Error"

I'm very very confused. I'm not sure if I formatted the SD card correctly, but I would appreciate anything that could possibly help fix this memory card problem. Thank you.

Was the memory card formatted in the camera that it is being used in? Did you check to make sure that the card used is supported by the PowerShot Elph?
Supported Memory Cards
