Connecting Lenovo laptop to my surround sound but only have one HDMI output for both and a optical audio with adapter to fit headphone jack on laptop

Not knowing what connections you have on the TV or HTS I would say that if you already have the HTS connected to the TV and you get sound from the TV to the HTS then you just need to connect the laptop to the TV with HDMI. Make sure your set the audio to output over HDMI from the laptop.
