I have a Vizio smart tv, a Vizio soundbar and the Toshiba DVR620KU as well as DirecTV. HDMI from TV to sat. box, HDMI from TV

Vizio smart TV - Vizio Soundbar - DirecTV - Toshiba DVR620KU
Soundbar works great with EITHER DirecTV or Toshiba but requires switching audio cable. How can I fix it so that the soundbar works for both without connecting/reconnecting cable? Thanks.

The DTV and Toshiba are connected to the TV with HDMI.
If the TV and sound bar both have ARC then activate it in the TV and that will feed audio into the sound bar.
If you don't have ARC then connect the TV audio out to the sound bar audio input. You may need a DAC or adapter if the TV audio output is not compatible with the sound bar.
