I'm looking for the right way to hook up to local channels with out cable should I hook up to digital or analog all I have is a in door anttena I just want to watch local tv

After connecting an antenna you would also need to scan for available channels. Set the TV to digital over the air or ATSC and run the scan. Digital TVs won't tune in any channels not in the scan list.
If you move the antenna to try for more channels you have to rescan each time.
