The laptop HDMI port is output only, so it can't accept an incoming signal from a blu ray player.

Buy bluray from ebay make sure if it's slim or not. $50.00 May need to swap faceplate. One screw holds DVD from bottom of laptop then gently pry out. Eject disk first see if empty sell DVD kijiji 20. 25 slim(slim in acer models sought for)
