Is the drive even spinning up?
My suggestion would be to start with just attaching the drive with a different cable to another computer. Also, you can check whether it is recognized by Disk Management and Device Manager.
Is the drive under warranty? In case it is and it is nowhere to be recognized, I believe you should be able to RMA it.
Do you have important data stored on the drive?
