I have to auto program every time I turn on the tv

A friend gave me a vizio tv. It works great but I have to auto program it every time I turn it on be cause theres nothing but a blue screen there. He had cable on it and it didn't do that with him. I'm just using an antenna. No cable.

Download the manual for your TV and go through the entire set up process. Some TVs will require you to finish the entire process before storing the info. Make sure you are scanning for over the air (ATSC) signals.
It may also be a defect in the TV.

It could be also the battery/device that holds the information is bad. It's similar to a CMOS battery in a PC. It's losing it's information.
