i need help with my tv quality

i have a 1080p vizio led smart and i have a cable box also hdmi but wen i change the channel the top says 480i and the quality looks bad

Did you run the hd setup on the cable box. If you have a bad signal coming in it will look like crap.

Your cable box should set itself to the correct resolution for your TV but you can check this. However some channels are not in HD and will show 480i. If you have digital cable then you will either get the channel or not. This can happen due to under OR over signal strength. In either case the picture quality will not suffer.
