i recently converted the audio technica bphs1 to 3.55 mm and i cant hear any sound out of the right cuff

exactly as reads above, but i have tried replacing the cable and that did not fix the issue

What do you mean "converted"? Using an adapter for the 1/4 " to 3.5 mm or did you actually re-wire it? Cable not connected properly or broken is the most likely issue. If you are using a converter, try another one.

i used a 1/4 " to 3.55mm converter, and I've tried replacing the cable
i guess the next step would be to get a new converter? Does that sound about right?

Yes, I have used adapters for these connections quite a bit for headphones and speakers, and get normal stereo sound from them. You may just have a faulty adapter.
