I spilled 2-3 table spoon water on laptop

I spilled 2-3table spoon water on my laptop the exact location where water is spilled is where the display is attach with the keyboard and now water is in the half of the display I took my laptop to nearest shop and the owner told me the water is not in the motherboard.but I am still scared because the water is all over the display which is decreasing day by day.so is there anything to worry how can I be sure that the water is not in the motherboard.I turnon the laptop and is functioning normally.

1) Learn to never have open liquid containers near computers
2) If you have water damage anywhere in the laptop (including display), you should stop using it and have it repaired immediately (unless the laptop is old, in which case you might as well consider it a chance to upgrade).

Back up regularly and use it until it dies, that thing will cost more to fix than the value of the laptop itself!
