I threw away my ASUS cpu and gpu Orange covering

I think this would be a big problem if I continue using my laptop without these cpu and gpu covers. I also suffered a massive temp problem on my laptop. Even when playing a low spec game such as GTA:SAN ANDREAS. My Cpu reaches 90c as well as my GPU.

I've Reapplied my paste, replaced my Laptop internal fan once and cleaned my laptop. But I think I made a big mistake by throwing away those covers. So, What am I suppose to do now? Can I just replace those covers with something else??

cover? sound more like the heat heatsink. Is it something like those in http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Asus+Laptop+CPU+Heatsink+Cooling

Maybe referring to thermal pads that he peeled off when he reapplied thermal paste. So now there would be a gap between the heatsinks and the cpu/gpu, causing overheating.
